Brentwood Bay Marine Search and Rescue – Station 31
The Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue (RCMSAR) is recruiting new volunteers for our Brentwood Bay-based search and rescue team. If you enjoy being on the water and contributing to marine safety, please contact us (see below).
Volunteer Requirements:
- Volunteers must live within a 15 minute catchment area of Brentwood Bay
- There are typically 2-4 training events per month
- Volunteers are on call 24/7 and notify the station when they are not available
- Volunteers are responsible for acquiring:
- Pleasure Craft Operating Certificate (PCOC) – available from private, local providers
- Restricted Operators Certificate (Maritime) (ROCM) – available from private, local providers
- a Criminal Records Check (free for volunteers)
- Some previous on-water experience is an asset
